Callan English is a General English course for learners of any level, from total beginner to advanced. Lessons are lively and fun, students are fully engaged, and progress is solid and fast. Having been used by many thousands of language learners all over the world, the course has a tried-and-tested record of success.

The Callan English course has 12 levels (or “stages”) and is carefully aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). Students who have enrolled at Callan Accredited Schools can also access the Callan App, which provides fun, extra practice between lessons, and those at A2, B1 and B2 levels can also make good use of the Callan Student’s Grammar Workbooks.

Callan App

The Callan App is where Callan English students can access any eBooks they have purchased. All eBooks include full audio. For students who have printed books, the app offers separate audiobooks.

The app also provides a large amount of extra interactive content to ensure that students can keep learning outside school.

• The unique Question & Answer section lets students practise their listening and speaking (and even record themselves).
• The Dictation section provides listening and writing practice with auto-correction.
• The Lesson Checks section contains quick exercises designed to test students’ recall of language very recently introduced in class.
• The Revision tests section gives learners an opportunity to check their medium-term recall of language already learnt.

Callan Student’s Grammar Workbooks

There are three Student’s Grammar Workbooks available for Callan English students:

The workbooks are designed to accompany students as they progress through their Callan English course, ensuring that they can further revise and consolidate the grammar they meet during their studies.

At some point, many learners also choose to prepare for an exam that will certify their level, such as Cambridge A2 Key, Cambridge B1 Preliminary, Cambridge B2 First, IELTS, TOEIC or TOEFL. For all these exams and many more, the varied tasks in our workbooks provide exactly what learners need to achieve the levels of accuracy necessary for success.
