English and Spanish teachers available for your school – by the hour!

Every student at a Callan Accredited School has their own Student’s Book (or coursebook). This is crucial to their studies, and students bring their book to every lesson they attend. Between lessons, learners can access the Calan App, which provides a variety of resources to help them keep learning between lessons.

Learning ResourcPrinted books, audiobooks, and eBookses

Our Student’s Books are available in both printed form and as eBooks. They contain all the core course content, language explanations and examples, all dictations, and any charts used in class. This makes them indispensable for reviewing what’s been learned and previewing upcoming lessons. The eBooks come with full audio, including dictations, to support learning. Students who prefer printed books can download separate audiobooks. Dictations are delivered at a pace suitable for students to practice outside class.

The Callan App

Students can download the Callan App for use on any Android, iOS or Windows device. What they see in their app depends on their course, their level, and which eBooks they have purchased; content can be allocated to each student individually by an Accredited School or Registered Teacher.

The App is where students access their eBooks (with full audio), or their audiobooks (if they prefer printed books).

The app also offers a wealth of extra interactive content to help students continue learning between face-to-face lessons.

In the unique Question & Answer section, students listen to questions, and can record their own voice as they answer. They can then compare their recording against that of a native speaker. They can record themselves multiple times if they wish. Using the Question & Answer section is great practice for general revision of lesson material, practising listening and speaking, and it is an excellent way for learners to focus on and improve their pronunciation.
The Dictation section provides valuable revision practice, this time with a focus on listening and writing. On completing a dictation, students receive instant feedback highlighting errors or omissions in their writing. They can then go back to make corrections, listening to part or all of the dictation again if they wish.
There are many other exercises available to allow students to gain extra practice. Learners engage with a variety of challenging task types, including multiple choice, error correction, word ordering and others. These all help enormously to reinforce and consolidate what is learnt in lessons.

Student’s Grammar Workbooks

There are three Callan Student’s Grammar Workbooks available for Callan English students, aimed at A2, B1 and B2 learners:

The workbooks can be used alongside the Callan English course to revise and consolidate what students have practised during lessons. They are also an excellent resource for students preparing for exams.
